Umm yeah so like the title suggest, Working!! has been licensed. I received an email yesterday telling me that NISA had aquired the rights to this show. I don't know if I am exactly thrilled about this. Since it's NISA there won't be a dub included and will be sub only, but that's not what makes me unhappy. What pisses me off is the new name "Wagnaria". Ok I get it, it's the name of the restaurant the characters worked in in the show, but seriously fucking Wagnaria!? What was wrong with Working? Working sounds more like an appealing title.
It comes on 2 DVDs, I would have preferred 3 honestly. I am glad to be able to have the opportunity to pick up this title and have a hard copy for myself. I can't help but to feel this title would have a much better chance in the hands of another company who would have dubbed it and been able to push it out to the casual audience. I mean it's the perfect title for that audience. As usual the Premium set comes with a hardcover full color art book, if you want to pre-order it you can do it at the link below, release date is March 2011

Wagnaria sounds like the title to some kind of Fantasy anime. It just gives the wrong kind of vibe for what this show is...
But there is one plus! If you ever hear anyone refer to this show as "Wagnaria!!" you can instantly make fun of them for their noob-ness xD.
I admit, personally I prefer the title Working over Wagnaria. But it's not like it's something new for western distributors to re-title shows.. I mean, as long as it gets released, I'd be complaining more over the lack of dub instead of the changed title :\
But then, I don't exactly buy many shows, and considering I haven't seen Working yet, it isn't exactly high on my to-buy list.. So I admit you have much more of a right to complain about this than I do orz
and Onion brings up a good point. All the real fans will still call it Working xD
You've got to see it. It's hilarious. I highly recommend it. And since Atvrcr recommended it to me, that means he is also indirectly recommending it to you as well!
Sounds bad... I'm really surprised Funimation didn't pick this title up.
Yeah it really seems like the kind of show they would want to get.
Mmm.. Sacred Blacksmith, Vampire Bund, Sgt Frog, Sengoku Basara, World Destruction, Strike Witches, Birdy the Mighty, Sora no Otoshimono, Bamboo Blade, Baccano... I honestly couldn't predict what kind of show those guys would want to license orz.
They main type of project they want to license is something that they can slap a dub on and get exposure to as many fans as possible. Baka Test for Comedy is a good choice, Shikabane Hime is a good well rounded show that they can force into many genre fans faces. You get the gist.
Should've named it "Androphobia".
